Welcome to the RRPictureArchives.NET contributor site of William H. Davis Jr..
Hello Everyone, My name is William Henry Davis Jr. I've been into railroad photography since late 1988 when I bought my 1st camera, which was a Minolta Maxxum 3000I film camera. I bought a Nikon N60 film camera around 2000 or 2001. I bought my 1st digital camera in 2008, which is a Nikon D80. I was born on April 26th of 1969 & will be 46 yrs. on April 26th 2015. I work for CSX Transportation as an engineer out of Birmingham, Al. & run to Nashville, Tn. or Montgomery, Al. The trip to Nashville, Tn. is a 201 mile run & the Montgomery, Al. trip is 103 miles. I got hired on CSXT back in January of 1997 as a conductor working from Mobile, Al. to New Orleans, La., which is a 139 mile run. I filled out an application for engineer service in 1998 & was accepted for training in Birmingham, Al. where I've been working since 1999. I have 18 yrs. & 1 month of service now. I always dreamed of being an engineer someday & now I'm doing what I've always dreamed about ever since I was old enough to know what a train is. It's nice to go to work enjoying what you do, because then it's not like going to work & it's a bonus that I get paid well to be an engineer. I grew up in Canton, Ga. by the old L&N Hook & Eye Line that runs from Etowah, Tn. to Elizabeth, Ga. now operated by Georgia Northeastern Railroad. I moved out on my own at 27 yrs. of age when I got hired as conductor for CSXT working from Mobile, Al. to New Orleans, La. It's great to have all the information of where the good consists/trains are on CSXT, so I know where to go to film them. I also have contacts with NS & BNSF for the good consists that run on those railroads, so not all of my great catches over the years wasn't just pure luck. I'll never stop filming trains until the day I die. Maybe one day I'll meet a female that's obsessed with trains like I am & fall in love, then another one of my dreams will come true, but I wouldn't be surprised if that last dream comes true, but if not I'm fine with it, I'd be too busy chasing trains anyway, LOL !!!!! I hope all who visits my railroad photography collection enjoys them as much as I do.
