The KCS 4697 was added to the lead of 220 in Birmingham, Al. after the 2536 developed mechanical problems, the 2536 had traction motor & dynamic brake problems, I'd rather the 2536 led, but still a good consist regardless, could've been worse, I feared an NS GE widecab would be added to the lead of 220 & had that happened this photo wouldn't exist |

The 2536 developed mechanical problems so the outbound crew had to get an engine from the service center at Norris Yard to add to the lead of 220, Im glad they picked a KCS ES44AC, but would rather had the SD70 leading, but it couldve been worse & the outbound crew couldve put an NS GE widecab leading, which wouldve been tragic |
