Description:  A pair of WAMX ( Former Quebec Southern Railway ) GP38-2'S & a WAMX ( Former UP ) SD40-2 are sitting in the servicing facility at Alabama Southern Railroad's Tuscaloosa Yard. These 2 former GP35's were rebuilt to GP38-2 standards & now are being parted out & are no longer in service anymore as well as 2 others. The ones painted in the WAMX scheme are still active. WAMX 3813 & 3856 are the GP38-2'S I know of still active. The 3856 is one of the former GP35'S that was rebuilt to GP38-2 standards

Title:  NS'S Alabama Division AGS South District
Description:  NS Southbound Freight Train 31V ABS ( Alabama Southern Railroad ) detour running via NS from Birmingham, Al. to Meridian, Ms. or Tuscaloosa, Al. ABS will be detouring via NS for quite a while since 4/27/11 when an EF-5 Tornado destroyed much of Tuscaloosa including a steel trestle in Gordo that was completely destroyed & blown to the ground. These trains run as 30V northbound & 31V southbound, but when I 1st caught the detour ran as an 071, I guess since the detour is long term, possibly a year or longer NS decided to come up with a train symbol of their own

NS runs this train as 31V southbound from Birmingham, Al. to Tuscaloosa, Al. or Meridian, Ms. & 30V northbound from Meridian, Ms. or Tuscaloosa, Al. to Birmingham, Al. ever since the 4/27/2011 Tornado Outbreak destroyed a trestle on the ABS in Tuscaloosa. Normal routing was via CSXT to Tuscaloosa via the Birmingham Mineral Sub through Brookwood, but now run via NS
