NS Southbound Freight Train 385 ( Birmingham to Mobile, Al. ) about to duck under I-65 North as they pass through 14th Street Interlocking in Birmingham, Al. NS calls this location 14th Street & CSXT calls it 13th Street. The track to the far left is the 9 District that goes to Bessemer, Al. the track that veers off to the left of the 385 from AGS #1 is the passenger lead where Amtrak comes into the station via CSXT & also how NS gets from the NA to the AGS South heading southbound, sometimes 74G & 74K are routed this way when they dont run their normal route via the Central of Georgia District P Line, AGS #1 is the track 385 is on & AGS #2 is to the right of them, the CSXT Boyles Terminal Sub crosses at 13th Street Interlocking seen behind 385, #1 Main is the 1st track & the next track over is #2 track, this is a shot I have wanted for quite a while from I-65 North where you have to park at the bottom of the 1st Avenue exit at a gas station & walk about a football field to get the shot, finally the timing was right so took the opportunity |
