CSXT Southbound Light Engine Move X099 ( Nashville, Tn. to Waycross, Ga. ) stopped at 13th Street Interlocking in Birmingham, Al. for a meet with a few NS trains before proceeding on south. HLCX 7149 used to be 1 of only a few Natural Gas Experimental SD40-2's that BN tested in the 90's. I've always wanted to shoot these units, but not necessarily in these conditions, I'd liked to have caught them while still new with all the logos & paint in good shape, but at least I got a shot of it before it got sent to Patterson, Ga. where it's likely to be stored for years & rust away. The other one of these former experimental Natural Gas SD40-2's was in service on BNSF at one time, but not sure if it still is. It is wearing the H-1 scheme of BNSF & numbered in the 7800 series |
